Continuing our trip through the Treasure Valley, next up is Meridian. This fast-growing city is a great place for new families, with lots of things to do that involve kids. If you’ve missed any of our previous day guides, click here.
This blog does include several summer activities, so if you are new to the Boise area, keep these in mind when it gets warmer next year!
Roaring Springs Water Park and Wahooz Family Fun Zone make up a great day for families. The two attractions are right next door to each other, making it easy to hop from one to the other. Roaring Springs is set to open on May 6, 2023, and there is a Christmas Season Pass Sale going on now through the end of the year! Wahooz is open year-round and has activities like bowling, indoor rock climbing and go-karts during the summer.
If you are looking for a kid-friendly museum, look no further than the Children’s Museum of Idaho. Little explorers can play in a hands-on and enriching atmosphere that is accessible for children and their families. The atmosphere of the museum encourages intergenerational relationships by encouraging adult-child interaction. The museum hosts events like therapy dogs, Early STEM and Let’s Get Messy.
The Village at Meridian is the shopping epicenter in the entire Treasure Valley. It’s a great gathering place for friends and family, with the fountain that is choreographed to light, music and fog effects. The Village hosts a variety of stores like H&M, Lush and lululemon. It also has a variety of restaurants and the Village Cinema.
After a busy day, you may be looking for something easy to do for dinner. Meridian has many restaurants to pick from, but here are some of our faves! These are also in the area of everything above, so you won’t have to go far to get something good.
Kona Grill has burgers, sandwiches and sushi, and also boasts the best weekend brunch in town. You can order takeout, host private events and even get catering. Kona Grill is located at 3573 E. Longwing Lane in Meridian.
Ling & Louie’s is an Asian bar and grill located at the Meridian Center. On the menu, you can find a variety of Asian tacos, soups and salads, and a variety of noodle and rice dishes.
Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar located at the Village at Meridian also serves an impressive weekend brunch, featuring the classic breakfast, a crab lemon benedict and candied bacon french toast. For lunch and dinner, they serve casual American cuisine that even the kids will love.
