We are all ready to say goodbye to 2020 and ring in a new year! Peruse the list below to determine how you want to celebrate the beginning of 2021 in Boise.
Idaho Potato Drop
The famous Idaho Potato Drop will be happening this year—but it will not be in downtown Boise. In fact, no one is sure where the potato will be dropping as it will be occurring in an undisclosed location. But you can tune into KTVB to catch the festivities.
Times Square
If you would rather watch a ball drop than a potato, you are in luck. The ball has been dropped in New York City’s Time Square since 1907, and even a pandemic can not stop it. However, the streets will not be crowded with revelers this year. Instead, a few select people will be able to participate in person while the rest of us can watch virtually.
YouTube’s Hello 2021
YouTube has the perfect opportunity to ring in the New Year for those mourning all the concerts that were canceled this year. You can watch Hello 2021: America’s NYE Celebration with performances by Dua Lipa and Demi Lovato from the comfort of your couch.
NYE in the Sapphire Room
The Riverside Hotel’s Sapphire Room is hosting a New Year’s Eve Celebration for those who want to celebrate in person. There are two shows to allow for social distancing, with show one at 6 pm and show two at 9 pm. Each show includes dinner and a performance by The High Street Band.
Season and Taste’s New Year’s Eve Celebration
For those who want to say cheers to the new year with tasty bites and champagne, then Season and Taste’s New Year’s Eve Celebration is the place to be. The local cooking school is offering participants the chance to craft their own delicious meal including beef wellington and smashed potatoes.
THUMP: REBOOT
Dance the year away at The Lounge at the End of the Universe’s THUMP: REBOOT. This CyberPunk-themed event will cover two-levels with DJs playing dance music. Make sure to wear a mask and dress for the theme!
The Great Polar Bear Challenge
After all that celebrating, you might want to take a chilly plunge for charity. The Great Polar Bear Challenge will look different this year due to COVID-19 precautions with participation limited to a select few. Click here to learn how you can participate at home to support Make-A-Wish Idaho.
