RESTAURANTS YOU’LL LOVE IN SOUTHEAST BOISE

Southeast Boise’s location tucked among the Boise River, foothills, Lucky Peak Lake, and downtown makes it ideal for homeowners who want to experience a little bit of everything that the City of Trees has to offer. When residents are not taking advantage of the numerous activities, they are likely to be found enjoying one of the numerous amazing restaurants scattered throughout the area. I have compiled a list of a few of my favorite ones here that I recommend to both family and friends.

Tavern at Bown Crossing

Surf and turf with a twist—that is the name of the game at Tavern at Bown Crossing. Here, patrons do not need to worry about a suit or tie but can enjoy high-end sushi and USDA prime grade steaks. Seafood specials, burgers, sandwiches, and salads round out the menu. You do not want to miss Sunday brunch where you can nosh on favorites like steak and eggs or eggs benedict.

Zeppole Baking Company

When you step into Zeppole Baking Company, you are greeted by the irresistible smell of freshly baked bread, created from recipes gathered all around Europe. The locally-owned business has 20 different types of bread for purchase, from a tangy sourdough to banana bread. You can also grab lunch while here, choosing from a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads.

Locavore

At Locavore, you will know that whatever you are ordering will be scratch-made, farm-fresh food. The charming bistro and cafe offers patio seating right off the Greenbelt. Have allergies? Locavore is happy to help anyone with dietary restrictions, including gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo, vegan, and vegetarian.

Westside Drive-In

A Boise institution since it opened in 1957, Westside Drive-In is more than just a burger joint. Here, patrons can order an elegant prime rib dinner from Chef Lou Aaron, or experience the Famous Idaho Ice Cream Potato.

Lost Shack

Lost Grove Brewing, a local brewery that is focused on using local ingredients since 2017, and Sushi Shack, a quality sushi catering and food truck company, combined their knowledge and delicious creations to create Lost Shack. The sushi bar taproom allows you to savor dishes like the S.S. Friendship (shrimp, jalapeno, cream cheese, salmon, avocado, krunchy krab, fire sauce, eel sauce, spicy aioli, and sesame seeds) while sipping on a locally brewed cold beer.

Barbacoa

Barbacoa is more than a meal, it is an event. This lavish restaurant is a happy hour hot spot thanks to its art museum-type setting and extensive cocktail menu. But patrons will also find a variety of food options, from table side guacamole to Certified Angus Beef® or Prime Steaks served on Barbacoa’s “Hot Rock.”

Eggman and Earl

If you are on the hunt for a great breakfast spot, look no further than Eggmann and Earl. This funky diner features traditional breakfast offerings like french toast, or you can one of the local favorites like the Netflix and Chill Burrito with meat, potatoes, scrambled eggs, and cheese wrapped in a tortilla.

I hope you find a new favorite restaurant among this list of Southeast Boise favorites! Did I forget one of your most frequented eateries? Let me know in the comments below.
