Cinder Wines
At Cinder Wines, you’ll be sipping and savoring wines created using grapes from vineyards scattered around the Snake River Valley. Cinder Wines was founded by local Melanie Krause and is named for the layers of volcanic remnants found under Idaho’s vineyards. Housed in an old fruit and vegetable packing warehouse in Garden City, Cinder’s tasting room is open daily. Take a look at Cinder’s current releases and then head to Cinder to give them a taste!
Split Rail
Split Rail Winery began with the basic desire to support Idaho and its agriculture. The family behind the winery are the Glavins: Jed, Laura, and their two children, Eloise and Boone. In fact, Jed taught himself how to create wine in the confines of their garage. Now patrons can enjoy sipping Split Rail at the winery’s spacious tasting room in Garden City. You can even bring your friend who refuses to drink wine, Split Rail has beer on tap!
Telaya
Telaya’s tasting room is a must-see spot in Garden City. Located right on the Boise River and Greenbelt, visitors will enjoy the gorgeous view while savoring delicious wines. Their patio is dog friendly and has a fire pit! Telaya is also a family-friendly spot, not surprising since owners Earl and Carrie Sullivan launched the winery in 2008 with the goal of spending more time with their loved ones. Coiled
All Coiled wines are made from “vine to wine” in the winery’s Garden City location. You’ll feel like you’re a part of the process while sampling Coiled wines under the same roof where they are created. Coiled also has a downtown location for those nights when you want to grab a drink after dinner. Winemaker and founder Leslie Preston launched Coiled in 2008 with a Syrah. Now she’s expanded to include Translations, a second label that has more than 1,000 cases. For Translations, Preston purchases developing wines and then blends them to create new wines in a range of style and price points.
Par Terre Winery
One of the newest wineries on the Garden City scene, Par Terre Winery was started by Travis and Mallory. The couple met as ballet dancers in Northern California before deciding to pursue another passion: winemaking. The tasting room is open Thursday through Sundays from 12pm to 5pm. Stop by to taste the wine and you might even get to meet the wine dog, Roux.
