WHAT IS TREEFORT ANYWAY?

It’s an odd word that you’ll hear around Boise (and now around the world), and that is near and dear to Boiseans.

Treefort Music Fest is the brainchild of a group of Boiseans who came together over their love of music. The festival kicked off in March 2012 as a three-day event focused on just music but has now evolved to five days and 11 unique “forts.” With this year’s Treefort events starting Wednesday, March 25th through Sunday the 29th.

The Forts

You’re sure to find a fort that interests you at Treefort! More than live bands and DJs—this quirky festival is full of activities from working on your downward dog at Yogafort to chuckling with your friends at Comedyfort. If you’re in search of something for a younger crowd, Kidfort provides all kinds of entertainment, from magic shows to music.

New to Treefort this year is Dragfort! This is the first official year for this fort that is a safe space for everyone to express themselves.

For the Foodies

If you’re more interested in what’s for dinner than finding upcoming bands, check out Foodfort and Alefort. Foodfort brings together “local, regional and national chefs, media, and culinary experts” to discuss the food scene and to provide some amazing bites. Some Foodfort events require an additional ticket to attend.

Alefort is going to be bigger and better in 2020! This is the spot to quench your thirst with craft beverages, but the fort is expanding beyond beer and cider to include a new Wine Showcase, Cocktail Showcase, and Zero Proof Showcase. There really is something for everyone! There will even be a Foodfort showcase on hand to provide bites between all those tasty drinks.

Volunteer at Treefort

Want to attend Treefort but your budget doesn’t agree? Sign up to be a volunteer! Treefort is run by hardworking local volunteers. All volunteers must work three shifts (two shifts for those under 21) to receive a festival wristband in return. You’ll also receive a cool t-shirt and have the chance to make new friends and hear awesome music.

Buy Tickets

Treefort has several wristband options available for purchase. The Treefort Wristband provides you access to any of the shows, if there’s room for you! If you want to ensure you don’t miss a single note, then grab the Zipline Wristband which allows you to move to the front of the line at venues. If you’re only interested in attending a specific fort but skipping the live music, you can purchase passes to Hackfort, Yogafort, Alefort, and Filmfort separately. Purchase your tickets here. And families—children 12 and under are free to attend all the shows!

I hope to see you around Treefort this March! If you have a band or event you’re especially excited about this year, let me know in the comments below.
